What's wrong with my new photochromic eyeglasses?

I found several problems with my new photochromic eyeglasses lenses which I bought for only just one week, first one is that the lens didn’t change color as quickly as the ads said when I from outdoors to indoors! And the second one is that when I am in my car behind the windshield, the lenses color even stays the same! Does it have any connection with the active ingredient which causes them to transform in lenses? Sometimes it almost needs several minutes!
